Hello,

Multicultural Services of the Vancouver Public Library (VPL) will host an afternoon of table exhibits to celebrate Canada’s official Multiculturalism Day on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 12 to 4 p.m.

We are now taking in proposals for table displays for this year’s event.

Tables will be set up in the Promenade of the Central Library. Each organisation will have one table (6 x 2 feet) to display their exhibits. We encourage you to make your table fun with colourful displays, traditional costumes and live demonstrations.

Last year’s Multicultural Fair was a popular event and the public very much enjoyed learning about a wide range of cultures. We hope to make this year’s event just as exciting. If a table is confirmed for yourorganisation, you will be sent an event confirmation form with a full list of regulations. However, we point out here that

1) the Fair is free and open to the public;

2) groups will have time before 12 p.m. and after 4 p.m. to set up and take down their displays;

3) soliciting donations, silent auctions or fundraising activities of any kind are not permitted;

4) provision of food/beverage to the public, including cookie/candy giveaways, is not permitted;

5) groups and organisations using Library space must not interfere with the regular on-going function of Library service.

Groups and organizations will have to fill in and email the attached Proposal Form for Table Display by May 11 in order to be considered. If you have any questions about the event, please phone or email. Additionally, if your organisation is unable to come, but you know of another organisation that could come, please forward them this email. You will be contacted at the end of May if a table has been reserved for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
